Omega 3 seeded crackers - The Carefillery New World

Equipment
- 1 Large bowl
- Baking paper
- 1 Oven tray
- 1 Rolling Pin or bottle
Ingredients
- 140 g / 1 cup Omega 3 mix - The Care Fillery
- 2 tbsp nutritional yeast optional
- 1 tsp oregano
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp chilli flakes optional
- ½ tsp salt
- 70 g / ⅔ cup chickpea flour or besan flour
- 30 ml / 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
Make dough
- In a large bowl combine 140 g Omega 3 mix - The Care Fillery, 2 tbsp nutritional yeast, 1 tsp oregano, ½ tsp garlic powder, ½ tsp chilli flakes (if using), ½ tsp salt and 70 g chickpea flour. Then add 30 ml olive oil and 80ml or ⅓ cup of warm water. Stir until thoroughly combined. Set aside to rest for 5 minutes. Preheat oven to 160 °C.
Roll dough
- After the dough has rested, pour the mixture onto a piece of baking paper. Cover the dough with a second piece of baking paper. Using a rolling pin, gently roll out the dough to approximately 0.25-0.5 cm thick (the thinner the crispier).
Bake dough
- Carefully remove the top layer of baking paper. Slide the baking paper with the rolled-out dough onto an oven tray and bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden.
Cool crackers
- Once baked, remove the tray from the oven and allow the crackers to cool completely. (This cooling time is essential as it helps the crackers to harden and achieve their characteristic crunch). After the crackers have cooled, break them apart with your hands. You can make them as big or as small as you like.
To serve
- Now, it's time to enjoy your Omega 3 seeded crackers! They're perfect as a snack on their own, or you can serve them with dips, cheeses, or spreads.
